STEP 8: Create This Month's Budget

1. Click on Budget in the left sidebar 

2. Use the arrows in the upper right, go to the current month

3. The purpose of this step is to help you get an idea of what is possible in a well planned month, and to get your guides in place so you’re set up for a month of good stewardship!

4. When setting your budgeted amount for incomes, if you have an unpredictable income source, enter the lowest amount you think you may receive based on past amounts. 

5. Work through all categories of the budget, updating the budgeted amount to what you plan to spend

6. It’s ok to set an ambitious budgeted amount for your goals and then see what you can adjust in your expenses and income to make that happen!

7. Maintain your budget going forward by logging in throughout the week to review and edit your recent transactions!

8. Before making a purchase, get in the habit of pulling out your phone and checking the remaining budget in that category.

9. We recommend getting in a rhythm of checking for new transactions once a day at the same time every day. This will keep you in the habit and enable you to update transactions while they are still fresh on your mind!
